How to write the perfect Sponsorship pitch email
There’s multiple ways to get a sponsor. Some are easier than others, but for now let’s say that you really want to get a Podcast Sponsor that you don’t know personally. How do you get them to say ‘YES’, or how do you even make them notice your show?
The easy answer is: make THEM see YOU!
Even if you just started your podcast, there are multiple ways to monetize your podcast through sponsorships, partnerships, and automated built-in monetization on podcast platforms.
On this article we’re clarifying option one and two.
Most brands are quite responsive through social media, sometimes providing quicker response times than via email. But before you send them ‘a quick message’, STOP! Take time to create a really solid pitching strategy!
It all starts with….RESEARCH!
The more informed you are about their product, company mission, and their potential customer, the more likely they’ll be to consider spending advertisement dollars on your podcast!
Follow this model to write a Sponsorship Pitch that will get you an answer!
Example:
Dear John Doe / Hi John Doe
My name’s Johanna and I host ‘She tells you How to…”, a weekly podcast that teaches women the truths and myths about starting your own airbnb listing, as a way to fight misinformation and potential serious debt. I have been following Company Candle-Y through social media since 2001 and I love that you are providing 5% of your profits to helping women in impoverished areas learn art programs to break the cycle of poverty.
I would love to know how we could collaborate to help you spread the message to my community.
My podcast accumulates 5K weekly plays and the episode’s Instagram post gathers 200 weekly comments. My audience is over 80% female under 40 years old, and they are interested in design, arts and products and companies who pay it forward so I believe that they would love to know about your candles with a purpose.

Let’s break down the structure of this pitch:
First paragraph:
On the first section of this email we’re introducing the podcast host, its title and a brief explanation of what the Podcast is about. Why is this important? The brand will want to know the basics about your show. Extra points here if you can align your podcast’s mission with the brand’s. The second part is all about establishing your relationship to the brand: it’s important that this section sounds authentic, not forced or fake.
Middle paragraph:
On here you should try to explain what your goal would be with the partnership.
Final Paragraph:
Who is your audience and what are your numbers? Make sure to include ballpark numbers and don’t count all the way to 198,309 - rounding it up to 198.3K should do the job just fine. Ensure that you include how the brand would reach their perfect audience (your audience!) by advertising or sponsoring your podcast.
