How to add a podcast to Facebook using the RSS feed
With over 2.8 billion monthly active users, Facebook is the biggest social network worldwide.
But did you know that the percentage of the population that uses Facebook the most has NEVER listened to a podcast?!
This is a missed opportunity to get your podcast in the ears of a person who could become your new listener… so what are you waiting for? It’s time to grow your podcast exponentially by adding it to Facebook.
Step-to-step guide to submitting your podcast to Facebook
If you feel overwhelmed, please watch the video below as you complete the steps described in this article:
Step 1:
Log into your account on Facebook.com.
Step 2:
Search for your Podcast Page and click on it. Look for the menu on the left-hand side. You should be able to see the menu ‘Podcasts’ under ‘News Feed’.
Step 3:
Click ‘Add Podcast’.
Now it’s time to look for your RSS feed (or code) that you can find in your podcast’s hosting platform (Sounder.FM, Podbean, or Spreaker). This will be available in your main podcast’s area, or if you can’t find it, just search for ‘RSS feed’ in your platform. Never share this code publicly, as it’s unique to your podcast.
Step 4:
Once you add your RSS code, you’ll receive a message stating that the email associated with your podcast account has received an email with the confirmation code. You’ll need that code to finalize publishing your Podcast on Facebook, so make sure that you have access to that email once you start this process.
After pasting the code you’ll see the image below (we’ve cropped information specific about our client):
Step 5:
YAY, confirmation that your podcast is now available and that every time you publish a new episode, your community will see it!
