S2 89. Spilling the Tea On My Big Oops Season Finale and What's Coming in 2025
Podfading wasn't on the radar for my podcast journey in 2024 (is it ever on anyone’s?), yet it surfaced unexpectedly, teaching me invaluable lessons that as a strategist I needed to share with you.
This episode delves into my experiences dealing with the overwhelm of relocation, strategic pivots, and the burnout that ensued. Stay tuned until the end of the episode as I'll share insights for other podcasters facing similar challenges and offer a glimpse into what's coming in Season 3.
The Reality of Relocating as a Podcaster and Its Impact
Relocating can be a major disruptor, both physically and emotionally. A move from Dallas to Bentonville, Arkansas, brought an unexpected set of challenges. While I thought the transition was manageable with prerecorded episodes, the emotional and physical demands were heavier than anticipated. The new recording environment proved tricky, with less light and a need for new setups, leading to decision-making fatigue.
Balancing Business Shifts and Personal Well-being
Managing a business during this time required navigating several shifts. From revamping The Podcast Space’s strategy direction to cater to three differentiated audiences (indie podcasters, production and marketing agencies, and the current business owners who I serve) to handling the logistical elements of the move, burnout became inevitable. Despite my role in coaching others to avoid overwhelm, I found myself knee-deep in it, struggling even to create a simple audio episode update for my audience.

Struggles with Self-Doubt Despite Achievements
Achievement often comes hand-in-hand with self-doubt. Despite numerous accomplishments—speaking engagements, and expanding my podcast network globally—imposter syndrome landed hard. Watching the successes of peers can be both motivating and daunting - especially as the internet can be the only point of reference as a digital business owner. The fear of inadequacy can hinder even those of us who advise others on overcoming it. Feedback from listeners this week, however, provided the motivation I needed to push through, reminding me of the real impact the podcast has had on my audience while I was away.
Season 3: A Teaser of What’s Coming
Season 3 of The Podcast Space is just around the corner, launching at the end of January. This season promises incredible guest appearances, covering crucial topics like website strategy, the importance of branding, and creator best practices. But don’t worry - I will continue to incorporate solo episodes in the podcast’s strategy.
Strategy and Support for 2025
With lessons learned, the focus for 2025 is clear: dedicate time to what sparks joy and yields results. It’s essential to re-evaluate strategies, eliminating tasks that neither inspire nor advance objectives. This is a reminder that support, whether through collaboration, coaching, or hiring, is crucial. No one should navigate these challenges alone.
